Officials with UT Physicians opened a second Houston-area plastic and reconstructive surgery clinic in November in the Greater Heights area.

The clinic is run by Dr. Klara Sputova, a plastic surgeon with UT Physicians, who said the health care provider was looking for ways to provide services to people closer to their homes. Another location of the clinic can be found in the Texas Medical Center.

“A lot of our patients don’t feel comfortable traveling to the TMC," Sputova said in a statement. "You know, it’s a large area with a lot of hospitals. It can be confusing. Our presence in the Greater Heights, I think will make things easier for patients.”

UT Physicians is the clinical practice of the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Sputova is an assistant professor at the school, according to a Jan. 8 news release from UT Physicians.

The new clinic will enhance care for breast cancer patients who were already getting services at the nearby UT Physicians office at 1631 N. Loop W., Houston. The clinic also offers general plastic and cosmetic surgery with a focus on breast augmentation.
