A new urgent care center opened July 17 at 1911 Taylor St., Houston, run as a partnership between Memorial Hermann and GoHealth Urgent Care.

Located near Houston’s historic First Ward district, the Sawyer Heights center serves patients ages 6 months and older. Services include treatment of non-life-threatening conditions, on-site X-ray services, COVID-19 testing and flu vaccines, according to a July 17 news release.

“We are excited to join Houston’s First Ward district at the heart of the city’s business and art communities," said Dr. Betsy Koickel, medical director of Memorial Hermann-GoHealth Urgent Care, in a statement. "Our new Sawyer Heights center will allow us to provide greater convenience and access to the people who live and work in this community.”

Memorial Hermann and GoHealth joined forces in summer 2022, at which time the two entities announced renovations at a slate of existing Memorial Hermann urgent cares. Since then, several new urgent cares have opened, including in the Heights and River Oaks.

Similar to other locations, patients at the Sawyer Heights location have access to Memorial Hermann's network of care, and electronic medical records can be accessed by caregivers across the network, according to the release. The new center takes walk-ins and appointments.
