The 39-day FIFA Fan Festival in Downtown Houston is set to host its opening ceremony June 11 as soccer matches across the three host countries kick off for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Here is what residents can expect to see, taste and participate in at the festival.

Fans attending the festival, according to a May 26 news release, can expect a curated selection of nearly 20 local food options from vendors and restaurants from across the Greater Houston area, including:

The Burger Joint
Kurbside Eatz
Good Company Pop Up Restaurant
Chi'Lantro BBQ
Asian Streetness
There will also be halal and vegetarian options available, per the release.

“The FIFA Fan Festival Houston is more than a place to watch matches—it’s a celebration of the people, flavors and culture that define this city,” said Patti Smith, director of the FIFA Fan Festival Houston. “We’re proud to showcase Houston on a global stage and create an experience that feels authentically local while welcoming the world.”

In addition to the food offerings, the festival will feature a roster of live acts that includes well-known Houston names such as Trae Tha Truth, Mike Jones and Mateo Lopez, as well as special guest performers Baby Bash, Chris Perez and Frankie J.
The Houston Host Committee also hosted a citywide talent search and selected a handful of acts out of 300 applicants to perform at the festival. Selected artists include Lee's Golden Dragon, Mariachi Las Chabelitas and Mary Sarah.

Other projects
As well as the food and entertainment, the Fan Festival will offer a variety of activities and exhibits for residents to participate in, such as the Houston Hall, which will spotlight Space Center Houston; the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo; the city's urban culture in the form of murals featuring slabs, graffiti and 713-themed graphics; two Art Cars; and a nod to the historic Astrodome.
The festival will also feature the Aramco Arena at the heart of the festival site, which will include a soccer pitch, interactive simulators and coaching programs that fans can experience. Open play will also be accessible on the field to all visitors starting June 17.
"Set against the backdrop of Downtown Houston, the FIFA Fan Festival Houston will serve as a hub for community, culture and connection," the news release states. "Whether fans are coming for the matches, the music, or the food, they’ll experience a true taste of Houston in every corner."
One more thing
The Fan Festival is free and open to the public and offers live match broadcasts. The festival will be open June 11-July 19, excluding rest days July 8, 12, 13, 16 and 17, when there are no matches. Hours will vary per day.
