La Piccola Cucina: Occhi di Bue

The Italian Cultural & Community Center of Houston hosts a cooking class for families with children ages 3-10 years old to make an authentic Italian dessert, occhi di bue, or shortbread cookies with jam. One ticket includes entry for one child and one guardian, plus all ingredients.

First Saturday Arts Market

The market features local artists offering art in a wide variety of mediums, including woodcraft, handblown glass art, paintings in oil, acrylic, and watercolor, pottery, and jewelry.Bicycle Rally & Scavenger Hunt

Riders can choose to do a 5-mile or 15-mile self-paced bike ride through the Heights. Participants will receive a route with riddles and clues to solve. Winners will be announced at an after party at Marmion Park.Mutiny Wine Room and French Cuff Boutique Fashion Show Luncheon


Benefitting the Ronald McDonald House, the event features a curated wine flight of 3 wines paired with an lunch by executive chef Eduardo Alcayaga. The 2024-25 ballet season at Wortham Theater Center opens with a production of “The Little Mermaid.” Choreographer John Neumeier’s rendition interprets the original fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen, and features grand sets and costumes with an original score by composer Lera Auerbach.Movies in the Park

Friends of River Oaks Theatre will host an outdoor screening of satirical film “Being There,” which stars Peter Sellers. The event takes place on the Water Works lawn in Buffalo Bayou Park and begins with a discussion led by conservationist and environmental leader Jaime Gonzalez.Festival de la Salsa

This event at Discovery Green park celebrates hispanic heritage through music, art and food. It features live Latin artists, folkloric performers and food vendors from several Latin countries.Opening Style Show - Models of Style and Service


Women’s organization Junior League of Houston will host two style shows this year, with a luncheon and dinner showcasing pieces from clothing brand Buru. Each showing features a three-course meal, drinks and a pop up shop.

Chefs for Farmers

This two-day food and wine festival returns to Autry Park for its third installment. This year, the event features a street food-style feast with unlimited bites and cocktails, and a main event where Houston’s top chefs will compete to win Best Bite.
