Dia De Los Muertos

City Place is hosting its third annual Dia de los Muertos celebration, a three-day festival honoring the popular Mexican and Latin American holiday. The newest addition to this annual event, Art of The Spirit will take place Oct. 27 and feature food stations, tequila tastings, an intricate skull face painting, floral crown creations, cigar rolling and live music.

Spirits of the Bayou boat tour

The Buffalo Bayou Association offers a series of 90-minute history boat tours that include stories of hauntings in Houston from tour guide Andrew Groocock. The tour takes attendees along Buffalo Bayou from Allen's Landing.Fall Frolic

Autism Frunk or Treat


Autism Dads Social Club is collaborating with We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gym; Behavioral Innovations, an applied behavioral analysis therapy center; and the Tesla Club of Greater Houston to host a Halloween celebration for children on the autism spectrum and their families. Treats will be loaded up in the “frunks”—or front trunks—of Teslas, and there will also be a costume contest, face painting, a bounce house, a raffle and free sensory kits from the Autism Society of Texas.Helen Hall-o-Ween

LaCenterra is gearing up to host its third annual Paws Fest. The festival’s main event includes a series of action-packed competitions presented by DockDogs, the independent governing and sanctioning body for dock-jumping and -diving canine performance sports. As in past years, the competitions taking place during the festival will serve as the only National Sportsmen’s Series event to be held in Texas this year.Northwest Harris County Heart Walk

Lone Star College-University Park is hosting the American Heart Association Northwest Harris County Heart Walk for the eighth time with an estimated 1,000 walkers.
