Throughout July, officials with the Memorial Park Conservancy are participating in Plastic Free July. A global movement launched in 2011 by the Plastic Free Foundation based out of Australia, Plastic Free July has the goal of working toward a plastic-free world through commitments such as eliminating the usage of single-use plastics.

What’s happening?

Patrons of Memorial Park Conservancy who make a minimum donation of $50 during July will receive a reusable Memorial Park Conservancy canvas tote bag.

Explained

According to the Memorial Park Conservancy, an individual can save around 500 plastic bags per year from entering oceans and landfills by using reusable bags.
