June is Pride Month, and Houstonians are invited to let their rainbow flags fly at a number of local events to celebrate the freedom for people to be their authentic selves.

June has been a nationally recognized month to celebrate LGBTQ people since June 1999 and marks the anniversary of the Stonewall riots. To ring in the month in fashion, here are four Pride-filled events to attend throughout Houston.

June 4: Pride Market at Karbach Brewing

Head to Karbach Brewing for an all-day Pride market and beer garden party. Guests can shop from over 25 vendors within Houston's queer community. There will be music from DJ Athenz as well as live performances, food trucks and giveaways.June 23: Rainbow on the Green

Located at Discovery Green’s Anheuser-Busch Stage, Rainbow on the Green is back for the 13th year. This Pride-packed event will feature live music from JORD, an LA-based pop singer-songwriter, and Houston-based vocalist Z’maji.June 24: Families with Pride


This family-friendly event, hosted by Houston City Council Member Abbie Kamin, returns to Levy Park for its second year. The event will have Pride story time, games and activities from the Houston Public Library, face painting, and interactive educational activities. At the Colors of Pride Ribbon Wall, children can write notes about what Pride means to them. According to a May 19 news release, residents are also encouraged to dress up their pets and bring them for Houston’s Second Annual Proud Puppy Parade, which will take place at 9 a.m. at the Levy Park Dog Park.June 24: Houston Pride LGBTQ+ Parade 2023

The 45th annual Houston Pride Parade, hosted by Pride Houston 365, will start in front of Houston City Hall. The parade processions will start on Smith Street at Lamar Street and will end on Milam Street at Pease Street.
