After holding five blood drives as of June 26, the Houston Heights Association is now committing to weekly drives in partnership with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center for the month of July.
In its first three blood drives, the association collected blood from 126 donors, equivalent to saving 378 lives, according to HHA President Emily Guyre.
The Heights drives will be held every Thursday in July at the Heights Fire Station, 107 W. 12th St., Houston. Find links to RSVP for a donation slot on the HHA Facebook page.
Donors will receive a free COVID-19 antibody test. The test cannot diagnose someone with the live coronavirus, and anyone not feeling well or may have been exposed to a case in the past 14 days is asked to avoid donating blood, according to the blood center. Face coverings are also required at donation sites.
