Houston ISD has not yet determined how it will handle graduation ceremonies in the event that social distancing remains in effect through June, but it is asking the class of 2020 to give feedback in a new survey.
Commencement for HISD's roughly 10,000 graduates was originally scheduled to take place May 29 through June 7 at various locations, including Delmar Fieldhouse, NRG Stadium and Texas Southern University.

On the survey, seniors are given four alternative options to choose from: a virtual graduation on the scheduled date of graduation; a virtual graduation later this summer; no virtual graduation and a traditional ceremony later in the summer, if possible; or no virtual graduation and no ceremony in the summer.

At least two other local districts, Katy and Cy-Fair ISDs, have said they intend to move forward with regularly planned ceremonies but have secured back-up dates for later in June.
