What we know
Houston Cider Company originally opened in 2018 as Houston's first production cidery and boasts a brewery, taproom and patio that offered beer and cider flights.
According to the business's website, the space utilized high-quality apple juice from Pacific Northwest orchards and hand-crushed fresh ginger, raw honey and whole spices to create a variety of specialty cider flavors, including cherry, pineapple ginger and rosé.
Quote of note
"Over the years, we’ve made so many good friends, had so many good conversations, and have had so much fun making what we think are some of the most unique ciders around," the Facebook post read. "We will genuinely miss all of you, and will especially miss our regulars (you know who you are). You will all hold a special place in our hearts for the rest of our lives, and we hope we carved out a small space in yours as well."
Something to note
The owners wrote on Facebook that the cidery will host a blow-out party Nov. 15 to celebrate "new beginnings," with more details expected to come out in the next week.
