Nando's Peri-Peri will bring its bold South African flavors to Montrose in mid-2025.

The setup

Located inside the historic Tower Theater block redevelopment, the new Montrose location will occupy a portion of the former Copy.com space on Westheimer Road. The restaurant will join nearby fast-casual options such as Velvet Taco, Niko Niko's and Sweetgreen.

“We couldn’t be more excited to open our third Nando’s location in the Houston area, especially in the vibrant Montrose neighborhood,” Sepanta Bagherpour, chief brand officer of Nando’s USA, said in a statement. “Montrose is walkable, diverse and full of energy—everything that aligns with the Nando’s spirit."

The Montrose location will be a 3,100-square-foot space with indoor seating and an outdoor patio.

What they offer

Nando's is known for its bold peri-peri chicken, a spicy dish of marinated and flame-grilled chicken that originates from the Mozambique and South Africa regions.

Peri-peri, also known as the African Birds-Eye chili, is a hot pepper grown in South Africa and Portugal. The Nando's recipe includes marinating the chicken for 24 hours in a mixture of the peri-peri pepper seeds, salt, garlic, lemon, onion and vinegar. The chicken can be served as a sandwich, wrap, wings, salad topping, or as a platter with a side of fries or rice.
