There's a new cocktail bar and terrace in Houston's Montrose neighborhood.

What we know

Sophie Cocktail & Terrace Bar was originally set to debut in the spring, according to previous Community Impact coverage, but staff confirmed it recently opened in mid-summer.

Sophie focuses on sophisticated mixology, per the business' website. Its menu features a variety of light bites, shareable plates and desserts—all inspired by flavors of southern France.

On the weekends, Sophie also offers a brunch menu. Items include steak and eggs, a Nutella croissant, a salmon flatbread, and croque madame, or brioche bread with ham, gruyere, bechamel and egg.

What to expect

Sophie spans two floors, with a downstairs cocktail bar and an open, upstairs terrace.

The bar and restaurant concept blends art and fashion to create an ambience reflective of the French Riviera, per its website.

The work of French artist Philippine de Richemont adorn the walls at Sophie. Bar officials said Richemont's paintings were used because of their bold colors and powerful monochromes, with influences from comedy, ballet and dance.
