Vietnamese-American restaurant Xin Chao officially served its last meal in the Washington Avenue Corridor on June 8.

Restaurant officials announced on social media that "crawfish season is coming to an end" and they decided to close their doors.

"We want to thank everyone for supporting us throughout this journey," the social media post stated.

The restaurant served a contemporary take on Vietnamese cuisine using locally-sourced ingredients from Texas and the Gulf Coast. Executive Chef and Owner Tony Nguyen received recognition as a 2022 James Beard Award finalist for "Best Chef" and a 2023 finalist for "Outstanding Chef," according to the restaurant's website.
