Things are heating up in the Houston Heights dinner scene with the opening of live-fire seafood restaurant Baso.

The dinner-only restaurant is open from Wednesday-Sunday and has caviar service as well as a variety of fish, fungi, oyster and nonseafood options—such as venison—according to the menu.

Besides cocktails and wine options, guests also have a dessert menu that includes tarta de queso, or a cheese tart; pandan tres leches; a chocolate-flavored flan; and a lemon parfait.
