Chef Ford Fry—the chef behind New American oyster restaurant State of Grace on Westheimer Road and Tex-Mex eatery Superica in the Heights—has announced plans for a new location of the fast-casual, Northern Mexico-inspired chain Little Rey near River Oaks.

The new location will open in the spring at 2345 Mid Lane, Houston, according to a Dec. 19 news release.

The menu will feature wood-roasted chicken al carbon dishes—including al carbon tacos and whole bone-in chicken al carbon for families—along with traditional street-style tacos, salads and fresh salsas served with hand-made tortillas. Sweet options will include rotating soft serve flavors, such as tres leches and salty cajeta.

Options on weekends will include migas breakfast tacos and pancakes served with buttermilk syrup.

The beverage program is directed by Eduardo Porto Carreiro, who works alongside Fry at Rocket Farm Restaurants. Drink options will include margaritas, housemade agua frescas, and Mexican and craft beer.

The decor will be reminiscent of Old-World Mexico, according to the release, with accents of reclaimed wood, vintage Mexican festival masks and artwork from Atlanta- and Austin-based artists.

The venue will feature a covered patio with a walk-up ordering window.
