A new year comes new businesses in Houston. Here is a list of a few businesses that plan on opening in 2025. This list is not comprehensive.

Meduza Mediterrania

Meduza Mediterrania, a restaurant concept from the hospitality group who brought Toca Madera to Houston, is anticipated to open in spring 2025 at Allen Parkway.

The dining concept will offer "bold and inventive" eastern Mediterranean cuisine inspired by different destinations within the region, according to a May 2023 news release.

Community Impact previously reported Meduza will span 9,732 square feet and will be able to seat 289 patrons. The restaurant will also offer indoor dining, a bar and a private dining room at the Pavilion Lifestyle Center at the Allen Parkway development.

According to Meduza's website, the menu at its sister location in New York includes a raw bar, roasted garlic hummus, lamb chops, pistachio-crusted salmon and a lobster arrabbiata with spaghetti, tomato, garlic, Calabrian chili and basil.Blushington

Express luxury beauty franchise Blushington is expanding into the Texas market with a new location coming to Houston at River Oaks in 2025, according to a December news release.


Blushington offers blowouts, makeup and skincare services to customers of all ages, backgrounds and hair textures in its commitment to inclusivity, per the release.

Specific addresses for the incoming Blushington franchises have not yet been determined, representatives with the brand said. More information will come in early 2025.Modern Animal

The membership-based veterinary clinic from California is set to open its Heights location in the first quarter of 2025, after Community Impact originally reported the clinic was set to open by mid-2024.

The clinic provides services such as primary care, preventive care, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry and care for puppies and kittens, per the business' website.

De Fortune, an intimate cocktail lounge, will debut in Regent Square in Montrose in early 2025, according to a social media post. According to a June 17 news release, the square's first bar and lounge is anticipated to be dedicated to mixology art.


The menu will focus almost exclusively on inventive cocktails and reflect new drink recipes, seasonal ingredients, exotic spices and global spirits. Limited snack options will also be available.

Kirby Ice House

The fourth Texas location of Kirby Ice House will open in fall 2025. Chief Operating Officer Michael Johnson announced Sept. 26 that the concept is headed to the Houston Heights.

The Heights spot will occupy 3.5 acres on North Loop 610 and cover 24,000 square feet. It will include a 146-foot-long bar, setting a new record for the longest bar in Texas, an honor that previously belonged to the 141-foot bar at Kirby Ice House in The Woodlands.

Kirby's is known for its drink selection that includes signature cocktails, wine options and over 50 beers on tap. The bar also includes spacious indoor and outdoor areas with a rotating selection of food trucks, state-of-the-art TVs and seating. The Heights location will also offer elevated patio service with an indoor and outdoor bar.

According to a news release, the Heights location will feature a similar layout to the chain's Memorial location, but it will boast over 20% more indoor seating as well as the most covered patio space and indoor seating of any Kirby Ice House location.
    Crux Climbing Center

    Austin-based Crux Climbing Center is expanding to Houston in October 2025, according to a Crux spokesperson. Crux currently has three locations in Austin, with the Houston center on Canal Street being its fourth in the state.


    Crux is an indoor climbing gym featuring bouldering, a strength training gym, fitness and yoga classes, community events and kids' climbing courses.

    The Houston location will be in The Plant in Second Ward, right off the METRORail Green Line. According to the news release, opening the climbing center at The Plant was inspired by Concept Neighborhood's plan to create a walkable neighborhood that integrates the local community. ​​​​​​
