The Houston Heights neighborhood Kroger completed a months-long remodel on Oct. 18.

The details

Work to redesign the grocery store began in May, according to an Oct. 17 news release on the grand re-opening.

The customer-centered upgrades include an expanded e-commerce grocery pickup service and customer engagement point, as well as:
  • More fresh sushi and cut fruit offerings
  • Upgraded Murray’s Cheese experience
  • Upgraded deli and bakery/pastries department
  • Upgraded meat/seafood department
  • Refreshed wine/beer department, including the grocer’s only wine bar in Houston
  • Redesigned floral shop
  • New decor and signage

Additionally, assistant store leader Samantha Rains said the grocery store will soon announce a restaurant concept. Rains said the opening date is yet to be determined.

What else?

Rains said two more Houston-area Krogers, located at 1440 Studemont St. and 1505 Wirt Road, will also undergo similar redesigns in coming months.


The Kroger Houston Division includes 108 stores in Southeast Texas and Louisiana with more than 12,000 associates, per the news release.
