Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr., along with co-founder Juan Carlos Martinez de Aldecoa and partner Jimmy Doan, will open the first location of Maven Coffee & Cocktails inside the new Thompson Houston, a Hyatt hotel.

Maven Coffee & Cocktails is the brand's first outpost after previously operating only as mobile carts within Minute Maid Stadium and the Toyota Center.

“Our Maven carts have received incredible feedback from Houstonians and visitors asking for more,” McCullers Jr. said. “We knew we were ready to expand, and Thompson Houston was the perfect place for our first location. It’s a stunning space designed to welcome hotel guests, local residents, downtown commuters and everyone in between.”

The new location will offer premium coffee, teas, pastries, sandwiches and sweets, along with hand-crafted cocktails and a curated wine list.

Mcullers Jr. and Martinez de Aldecoa will attend the grand opening of the new spot from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
