The first Texas location of the premium hair extension purveyor The Hair Shop is now open in River Oaks, bringing an array of products and beauty industry expertise to the area.

Founded in 1988, The Hair Shop offers hair extensions that company officials said can meet diverse needs. In a Feb. 1 statement, CEO Daniel Tokko also emphasized the company's commitment to innovation.

“When scouting a new location for The Hair Shop to lay down roots, Houston felt like the natural choice," Tokko said in a statement. "The vibrant energy of Space City resonates with our brand's commitment to innovation, and the warm reception we've received reaffirms that we've found a community that values quality and style."

Staff members at The Hair Shop offer services with a variety of textures, lengths and colors, ranging from ready-to-wear options to more comprehensive transformations. The shop also offers educational classes for stylists and events for customers.
