Secondhand clothing boutique Heaven Bites Vintage welcomed shoppers with open arms Aug. 15 during its official grand opening, owner Jackie Smith confirmed.
The nostalgic shop previously operated in East Downtown Houston, but now operates from the Heights at 123 W. 18th St., Houston.

For those looking to sport vintage wares, Heaven Bites Vintage offers a curated, specially sourced selection of Japanese fashion—or J-fashion—Y2K fashion and other whimsical clothing genres.
Smith told Community Impact that the boutique also displays items from multiple local artists and vendors. This includes, but is not limited to, handmade jewelry, home decor, aesthetic art pieces and chunky necklace collections.
The interior design of Heaven Bites Vintage taps into the "dreaminess and fun of adolescence" through its intentional use of color and childhood artifacts, Smith said.
“A lot of people say [the boutique] reminds them of their childhood bedroom, which was, honestly, the inspiration for how we decorated the store for the new location,” she said. “I want people to feel at home.”
The backstory
Smith said she started her business independently, but over time, watched as it became a family-owned affair through help from her mom.
“It started off as the latter, just all me and [my mom] was just so supportive, but then I slowly convinced her to come thrifting with me,” Smith said. “She also kind of has a passion for it, too, now.”
Heaven Bites Vintage’s hours are currently 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. On Sunday, hours are 12-6 p.m., per the store's official Instagram.
