Two new locations of the sugaring and sunless tanning chain Sugared + Bronzed are now open in Uptown and in the Heights, officials announced in February.

The Uptown location opened in late December in the Uptown Park mixed-use development, while the new Heights location opened on West 19th Street on Feb. 12. They are the first two locations to open in Houston, following locations in California, Dallas, Austin and several northeast U.S. cities.

Sugaring refers to a hair removal practice that involves applying a paste of sugar, lemon and water, considered a gentler alternative to waxing. The salon also offers airbrush tanning services using a proprietary solution, according to a Feb. 6 news release. Both Houston locations feature three sugaring rooms and three tanning rooms each.

"Combined with our distinctive atmosphere featuring welcoming team members, an upbeat playlist and Mediterranean-inspired decor, we transform a beauty errand into an enjoyable experience," Co-founder and President Courtney Claghorn said in a statement.
