Officials with the Montrose Collective, a mixed-use development at 888 Westheimer Road, Houston, will host a Cinco de Mayo-themed grand opening celebration from 4-7 p.m. May 5.

The event is free and will include food, drinks and music as well as prize raffles. Each patron will receive a raffle ticket upon entry.

Raffle prizes totaling over $5,000 include:
  • Graffiti Raw’s first-ever chef’s dinner for 10 guests
  • A chef’s dinner and wine pairing for six guests at Marmo
  • A sip and social event for eight guests at The Chelsea
  • A $1,000 Uchi gift card
  • More than $1,000 in beauty treatments and gift cards to Montrose Collective retail stores
Music will be provided by DJ Carribeats at the event, which will also feature live mariachi music and folklorico performances, a term describing Spanish folkloric dance.

For families, the event will include a balloon artist, face painting, corn hole and tic-tac-toe.

In January, officials with Radom Capital, the developer behind the Montrose Collective, announced the site had reached over 97% occupancy. Since then, several other concepts have opened, including the Austin-based eatery Picnik.

As development along Montrose Boulevard continues, a new effort is also underway to reshape the roadway, a process that will entail making the road safer and preparing for future development.
