Goodnight Hospitality's plans to build its boutique hotel, The Montrose, can move forward after the Houston Planning Commission on May 9 approved its request to build in a residential area.
The commission initially reviewed the item April 25 but extended the vote in order to allow for more public comments; none were received.
The nine-room hotel will be located at 2509 Dunlavy St., near Goodnight's other developments off of Montrose Boulevard, which include new restaurants and shops opening later this year. The hotel itself will have a bar and lounge for guests.
Rooms will range from $350 to $500 per night, and valet parking will be provided.
Construction is slated to begin later this year for a 2020 opening.
