Farmers market have been a staple in the Houston community since the 1940s when the first market opened and began selling fresh produce, spices, herbs and local products, according to the Houston Farmers Market website.

Eleanora’s Market

Over 30 vendors sell high-quality produce, cheeses, meats, baked goods, art, textiles and flowers at the Eleanora’s Market in the Heights. The market also consistently hosts chef events, and wine and beer events.

Curated by The Informal Grub, the Heights Mercantile Farmers Market has over 60 small businesses offering everything from locally grown produce and grass-fed meat to chef created take-home meals and health-conscious pantry staples. The Houston Farmers Market

This 18-acre market is Houston’s largest and oldest farmers market. Visitors can discover fresh produce, spices, exotic fruits, artisanal crafts, restaurants and retailers all at one location in the Greater Northside District.

Market Square Park Farmers Market

This new open-air farmers market located in Downtown Houston’s Historic District spotlights local growers and makers, and provides access to seasonally fresh and affordable fruits, vegetables, proteins and prepared foods. There is also live music from local performers and other weekly entertainment.

M-K-T Sunset Market

The weeknight, family-friendly market puts a spin on the typical farmers market by taking place in the evening. Guests can find live music, face-painting on the lawn, charcuterie on the wave deck and grab-and-go meals by Houston chefs.

Urban Harvest Farmers Market



All products at the Urban Harvest Farmers Market come from within 180 miles of Houston. It is the longest running market in Houston and is the only one operated by a nonprofit. Officials are celebrating their 20th year of continuous operation in 2024 with around 100 vendors each Saturday.
