What we reported The Conroe Regional Medical Center has pursued Level II trauma center designation since 2014. The designation means the hospital is capable of treating most trauma cases without having to transfer patients to the Level I trauma centers in the Texas Medical Center. Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital has also expanded its services and is in pursuit of Level II designation. Memorial Hermann officials hope to attain the designation in late 2017 or 2018.
The latest The Texas Department of State Health Services and American College of Surgeons certified the Conroe Regional Medical Center as a Level II trauma center Dec. 21. The hospital is the first to attain the designation in Montgomery County. Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital already accepts patients in need of high-level trauma care as a part of the certification process.
What’s next Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital will continue to pursue Level II trauma center designation in 2017. The hospital already offers the services of a Level II trauma center and will continue to accept trauma patients as it continues through the certification process.
