Canopy, a cancer survivorship center, officially opened July 5 at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital.
The state-of-the-art facility is a 3,000-square-foot sanctuary where cancer survivors and their caregivers have access to support groups, counseling services, a demonstration kitchen, fitness and art therapy classes, online medical research libraries and massage therapy.
“Together, we want to support those battling cancer—no matter where they are being treated or where they are in the course of their journey—by offering free programs and services that enhance their quality of life,” said Josh Urban, senior vice president and CEO of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital.
Canopy features a private dressing area for breast prosthesis and bra fittings as well as a wig salon. The space is also available for head-shaving parties for patients and their loved ones.
Drop-in hours for Canopy are scheduled from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Friday.
