Construction of a $380 million Houston Methodist campus continues in south Conroe. Along with the addition of several primary care facilities, the hospital is contributing to the rapid expansion of health care services in Montgomery County.

The first phase of the 470,000-square-foot Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is under construction at the intersection of I-45 and Hwy. 242 in Conroe and will open with 187 beds in July 2017. The hospital plans to feature 400 beds once complete.

On March 1 the hospital system will open the medical complex’s first medical office building that includes a Breast Care Center, a Cancer Center and Infusion Center, orthopedics and sports medicine, wellness services, an outpatient laboratory and additional multi specialty physician practices.

Additionally, the hospital system has opened four primary care sites in Conroe, Montgomery, The Woodlands and Spring over the past 18 months. The 20,000-square-foot Conroe office at 4015 I-45 N., Ste. 210, Conroe, is intended to serve as a primary care hub with diagnostics and outpatient capabilities.

CEO Debra Sukin said the comprehensive approach helps the hospital deliver primary care services to remote areas throughout the county.

“[We] recognize the importance of developing a regional network of primary care, specialty care and emergency services close to patients’ homes,” Sukin said. “Our model is representative of our presence [and] how we lead medicine in every market we serve in the Greater Houston area.”
