McBride will be tasked with the role of leading CHI St. Luke’s six suburban Greater Houston area hospitals by working with each hospital’s leadership team to advance initiatives and improve any operational inefficiencies, according to hospital officials. McBride has more than 25 years of health care administration experience and joins CHI St. Luke’s from SCL Health where he served as president and CEO of St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. “[McBride’s] extensive background in hospital administration, paired with his extensive experience working with Catholic health care systems, will be very beneficial to us,” CHI St. Luke’s CEO Michael Covert said. “His passion for community-based health care will strengthen our ability to deliver high-quality health care in the communities we serve.” Before his time with SCL Health, McBride served eight years with Christus Health in San Antonio in a number of operational roles before becoming regional vice president. “CHI St. Luke’s is expanding throughout Greater Houston and Texas,” McBride said. “I look forward to playing a role in advancing our operations across the system as well as returning to Texas.” View a map of local health care providers
