Women in Pearland and Friendswood now have increased access to breast screenings after Memorial Hermann and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center expanded integrated services in the area.

In both Pearland and Friendswood, the MD Anderson Breast Care with Memorial Hermann facility offers specialized breast imaging with advanced technology. The medical centers also provide diagnostic tests, such as biopsies, ultrasounds and 3D and digital mammograms, according to officials.

“We share a commitment with MD Anderson to provide high-quality cancer care to our community,” said Jim Brown, Memorial Hermann senior vice president and CEO of ambulatory services. “The convenience and advanced technology of Memorial Hermann’s breast imaging service, along with the cancer expertise of MD Anderson, is a great health resource for the Bay Area.”

The breast care facilities are at 10905 Memorial Hermann Drive, Pearland and 1505 E. Winding Way Drive, Ste. 100, Friendswood.

Dr. Jay Parikh, MD Anderson associate professor of Diagnostic Imaging, said breast screenings are important to find any abnormalities as soon as possible.

“We know that catching breast cancer early offers patients the best possible options for treatment, and making that early diagnosis—or giving the news that all is clear—starts with confident, quality screening,” he said.
