With the fall season quickly approaching, a number of events have been organized in the Montgomery County and Greater Houston area. Events include seasonal festivals, music festivals and holiday shopping markets.

Annual community festival September 16th

Coat of Many Colors Ministries hosts its sixth annual community festival fundraiser. The festival features live music from Archie Bell, door prizes and food prepared by local restaurant Fish Tales. CMCM helps people achieve self-sufficiency through education and employment training programs. 6-10 p.m.  $10 (general admission), Free (children age 7 and younger). Montgomery Wine & Music Fest September 17th

This annual wine-tasting event is held in Montgomery’s historic downtown district. The event features wine and craft beer as well as live music on two stages. Musical artists include headliner Jason Boland & the Stragglers along with Josh Fuller and other local talent. Vendors and concessions are on-site and attendees may also shop local businesses, including antiques, boutiques and restaurants. 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Free (admission), $30 (wine package). Fall festival and corn maze September 24th through Nov. 13

P-6 Farms hosts its sixth annual fall festival in Montgomery. The festival runs for seven weeks and includes two corn mazes on 8 acres of land, a large pumpkin patch, rubber duck races, a hayride and slides. Oktoberfest September 24th

The Grace Lutheran Church and School hosts its sixth annual festival fundraiser. The event features food, vendor booths, a biergarten with beer and wine as well as a silent auction and raffle. The event also features games, crafts, bounce houses, a ferris wheel, face painting, horse rides, a petting zoo, gyro ball and wall climbing. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free (admission), $20 (children’s area wristband). Lobsterfest October 6th

The Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce hosts its 30th annual lobster dinner and auction fundraiser event. The evening includes live and silent auctions. Golfers have an opportunity to tee off for a round of golf at the Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Club course the morning of the event as well. 9 a.m. (golf tournament), 6 p.m. (doors open), 7:30 p.m. (dinner). $80 (dinner and auction), $80 (golf tournament). Texian Heritage Festival October 8th

The annual festival in Montgomery celebrates Texas history and culture with live re-enactments, including the Texian Army tent encampment, the Texas Independence battle and Native American dancers. Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival October 14th through 16th

The Friends of Conroe hosts its 27th annual festival. The event features musical performances by more than 30 bands on three different stages. The event includes a beer garden, a carnival, a kids zone, and arts and crafts vendors. Food offerings include catfish, alligator, etouffee and gumbo. 6 p.m.-midnight (Oct. 14), 11 a.m.-midnight (Oct. 15), noon-6 p.m. (Oct. 16). $12 (adult admission), free (attendees age 12 and younger). Fall Festival October 15th

Montgomery United Methodist Church hosts its second annual festival event. Festivities include live music from local artists as well as high school and middle school bands. Other highlights include vendors, a bake shop and a country store that offers a variety of crafts. Trick or Treat Trail Outdoor movie: ‘Hotel Transylvania 2’ October 22nd

Children and families can wear Halloween costumes as they stroll around Carl Barton Jr. Park’s pond where visitors will receive candy and literature from approximately 30 area businesses. Christmas in Montgomery December 10th

The Montgomery Historical Society hosts its annual Christmas celebration in Montgomery. The event features a meal with Santa Claus, homemade baked goods, and arts and crafts vendors. The event also includes the “Christmas Around the World” parade as well as an evening tour of historic homes decorated for the holidays. 8 a.m. Free. Conroe Christmas Celebration December 10th

The city of Conroe hosts its annual holiday event. The event features bounce houses, face painting, two snow hills, train rides and a live nativity scene and concessions.
