Eight years after the Spring/Klein Chamber of Commerce was launched, it is growing by bringing business leaders closer to the community’s residents. The goal of the chamber is to service Spring and Klein and help the area with initiatives. After advocating for more higher education options, improved mobility in the area and creating events, such as the Spring/Klein Chamber of Commerce Community Expo, it has added more than 200 members in the past two years and has grown to more than 300 total members.

What are the functions of the chamber?

The chamber helps build businesses and helps our community thrive. It helps with the economic growth that is happening and being that voice for Spring and Klein. It involves being a part of our government and legislation to help businesses be successful and help the community be successful. We look at our demographics and come up with strategic plans five years down the road for our chamber and look at our core values to make sure we give the things that are needed in our area, such as higher education, expansion and looking at our roads with [Harris County] Precinct 4.

What does the chamber do for its members?

It gives the members a platform and a voice. It also gives a platform for a unified place to have meetings and gives that voice to not only the business leaders but also the community. We’re like that funnel that gives them information. It also builds successful businesses and communities when they have a place where they can go to get good information.

Where do you see your chamber in five years?

[We will be] looking at being collaborative and having a ton of different partnerships and trying to be the driving force for the Spring/Klein community and helping them with different visions and efforts to get us to the next level. It’s listening to the area, looking at demographics and looking at the Census [data] to see what are the needs of those people. It’s important to hear the voice of the business owners and the community and bridge the two together.
