Dryft Cycleboats

This recreation provider offers group and individual boat rides for those looking to tour Lake Conroe. Powered by riders themselves, who sit around a center table on bicycle-like seats and paddle to power the rear paddle wheel, the boat’s destination and the tour’s activities are determined by the paddlers. Boats can also be booked for all-day events.

Thrill-seekers can take flight on jet packs with equipment from Hydro-Rockets. Renters can choose from the Flyboard, Hoverboard, Jetovator or Jetblade options, which allow riders to fly over the lake. The Jetovator and Jetblade also allow their riders to dive underwater.

Lake Conroe cruises and tours

Visitors can tour Lake Conroe aboard a 26-foot pontoon boat run by the Lake Conroe Sightseeing Tours company. Customers can bring their own drinks.

Lake Conroe Park

The lake’s largest public park features fishing piers, two swimming areas, a children’s playground, picnic tables and grills, volleyball courts and a pavilion. It is open 9:30 a.m.-dusk and is closed Mondays.

Southern Empress Cruises

Riverboat cruises through Southern Empress Cruises allow customers to dine and enjoy entertainment while floating on a Victorian-style boat on the lake. Cocktail, lunch and dinner cruises are available on the triple-decker vessel as well as options for private or corporate events.

Waterpoint Premier Lakeside Venue

Einstein’s Ship Store

In addition to the supplies sold in the shop’s convenience store, Einstein’s offers two ski boats and six 20-foot pontoon boats for rent. Fuel and life jackets are included with each rental. Discounts are available if reservations are made or if the boats are rented Monday-Thursday. A two hour rental minimum is required.

La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa

This lakeside resort offers a wide array of amenities. Among the park’s attractions is AquaPark, an aquatic park featuring multiple swimming pools. La Torretta also offers a spa, which provides massages, facials and haircuts, as well as nine dining options, ranging from traditional restaurant and bar to a sushi bar to in-room dining. The resort also features a private stretch of beach.

Water lovers who do not own boating equipment can rent anything from a WaveRunner to a party barge at Nauti-Dayz. The smaller equipment, including personal watercrafts and ski boats, can be rented in one-, four- or eight-hour increments, but the party barge must be rented for at least three hours. Each rental pays for fuel and life jackets for each person at no extra charge. A two-hour minimum is required for ski or pontoon boat rentals on the weekend. Customers operating the rentals must be older than 18 with a valid driver’s license.

Resort Attractions

Lake Conroe visitors can rent lake front condos, personal watercrafts, ski boats and pontoon boats from Resort Attractions, which is headquartered at Seven Coves Resort and Marina. The pontoon boats can seat as many as 14 people while the ski boats hold up to eight. The business also offers one- and two-bedroom condo rental models. Resort Attractions offers package deals for customers interested in multiple services.

Lake Conroe Reservoir rules and regulations

The San Jacinto River Authority is amending its rules and regulations for Lake Conroe use. The agency expects to approve the new rules May 28. For more information or to read the rules,
