"With the tremendous success Anadarko achieved in U.S. shale developments, in Mozambique and other areas over the past few years, the company needed additional space to accommodate the growth in its workforce," Moreland said. While Anadarko employs more than 6,000 employees worldwide, the Hackett Tower building has space for 1,550 employees and staff. The neighboring Allison Tower houses Anadarko employees as well. Inside the Hackett Tower is a full-service dining area and coffee bar. The building includes its own conference floor with dozens of meeting rooms in a variety of sizes. The fitness center features a basketball court, fully equipped gym and locker rooms. In addition, outdoor green space is included on the more than 7 acres of land on which the tower is located. Moreland said the Allison Tower has a physician and medical staff on-site as well as laundry and car-detailing services. "[The] Hackett Tower was designed to enable greater efficiencies among our teams and also continue our work-life balance commitment to our employees through thoughtfully planned workspaces and facilities," Facilities Manager Ambe Hoffman said. The tower earned the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver award by the U.S. Green Building Council. "Our facilities teams' commitment to building a state-of-the-art addition to our headquarters that is energy-efficient, environmentally mindful and provides a healthy workplace for our employees, [underscores] Anadarko's commitment to the community in which we live and work," Anadarko Chairman and CEO Al Walker said.
