The Klein ISD board of trustees is expected to name its lone finalist for the district's new superintendent on Thursday, June 6.

The announcement comes just two weeks after KISD Superintendent Bret Champion announced his resignation May 21. In accordance with Texas Government Code, the vacancy or job posting was required to be posted for at least 10 days before the board could name the finalist(s) being considered for the position.

Once the finalist is named, the board is required to wait at least 21 days before voting to finalize the new appointee.

The district announced the special board meeting via Facebook June 5. The lone finalist is expected to be named Thursday, June 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the Klein ISD Central Office, located at 7200 Spring Cypress Road, Spring in the Board Room.
