A driver may be facing intoxication assault charges after an accident with a school bus in The Woodlands, according to a report from ABC 13.

Seven people were injured Friday night when the driver struck the side of a school bus carrying 35 people, including members of the Conroe High School girls volleyball team. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said the seven people taken to the hospital had minor to mild injuries, according to ABC 13.

According to ABC 13, the driver and a passenger in the car were also injured, deputies said Friday night. Five refused medical treatment. Deputies said the driver was allegedly intoxicated, and the passenger who was also in the car may have been charged with having an open container.

The identities of both suspects were not released by deputies.

District personnel rushed to the scene as authorities investigated the crash. A field sobriety test was conducted on the driver while the team waited for their parents near the site of the accident, which occurred near the intersection of Gosling Road and Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands, according to ABC 13.
