While CFISD officials have been busy trying to get two new high schools open for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 school years, construction also began on new agriculture center and transportation centers last fall.
Both centers are slated to be complete by the end of September at the 179-acre site where Cypress Park High School is being built. The agriculture center will provide additional space for FFA students to work on and store their projects, said Roy Sprague, associate superintendent for facilities, construction and support services. The transportation center will give the district transportation fleet better access to the west side of the district where growth is most pronounced, he said.
“As we move forward with plans to build new schools in this area, it’s important to stay on top of the other areas that are impacted by our growth as well,” Sprague said.
