After a soft opening last summer, the business held a grand opening Oct. 1. District 2·4·9 features a full restaurant and bar, TVs, indoor and outdoor games, 10 volleyball courts, a dance floor and a 6,000-square-foot covered patio. The business hosts volleyball leagues throughout the week.

“We’re a big place, but it’s a mom and pop business,” Dan said. “There’s a lot of options for different people and what they want to do. They can kind of find their niche and [do] what they enjoy doing.”

Burger options include the Raw Hide Burger, which features cheddar cheese, bacon, spicy Creole mustard and a fried egg, while chicken wings are among the most popular dishes, Jess said. The menu also features a mix of Tex-Mex and American dishes, such as salads, quesadillas, sandwiches and desserts.

“There’s something for everybody,” Jess said. “On the weekends, [the patio is] packed.”

She said the size of District 2·4·9 makes it attractive for birthday parties, corporate events and fundraisers.

“Families [love coming here] because their kids can run around outside,” Jess said.

District 2·4·9 is a dog-friendly venue and is family-friendly until 9 p.m. each evening, Dan said. After that time, only guests age 21 and older are permitted.

In addition to regular menu offerings, guests can enjoy crawfish while it is in season. Manager Chris Surgi said District 2·4·9 serves about 3,000 pounds of crawfish each weekend.

“We have the best crawfish in town,” he said.

The bar includes 66 beers on tap, including local craft beers from Bearded Fox Brewing and 11 Below, Jess said.

Additionally, each Friday and Saturday evening the bar offers dancing and a DJ with occasional live music events, Surgi said.

“There’s not a place like this around,” he said. “Everything we do, we try to be a little different.”
