When Beket and Joanne Griffith had to close their Grant Road restaurant on short notice in December 2013, they were determined to get back up and running as soon as possible.

The couple reopened on a tract of Cypress farmland in March and have put into place major plans for their new location.

Since reopening, the Griffiths have launched a dinner menu for Friday nights, started a garden to grow herbs and vegetables and are developing outdoor seating space where they eventually hope to host community dining experiences called “kinship dinners.”

“It will be a chance for people to come out and enjoy the company of their neighbors in a peaceful outdoor setting,” Joanne said.

Cooking everything on-site means the food tastes better and customers feel better, Beket said.

“Our customers trust we know what’s in the food—from soup broths to the salad dressings to the whole grain flour we mill for the baked goods,” he said. “We literally know everything that goes into everything.”
