Houston diners in search of soul food are not likely to end up in the far suburban reaches of Cy-Fair. However, those who are in the area now have a traditional southern comfort eatery to patronize.
The menu at Henderson’s Soul Food includes smothered pork chops, baked and fried chicken, turkey necks, catfish and tilapia, among other dishes, available as entrees with three sides. Side dishes include fresh cornbread and fries. Several desserts, such as homemade banana pudding and cake are also offered.
The restaurant, which celebrated its grand opening in May, is open for lunch and dinner and also provides both dine-in and take-out service. Updates on special deals are posted on the venue’s Facebook page.
The look of the restaurant is clean and modern, decorated with pictures of jazz instruments and several flat-screen TVs.
