Since opening in May, Cypress Breakfast House has seen more business than Nathan Urick, the restaurant's manager, ever imagined. It seats about 125, but lines go out the door every Saturday and Sunday, he said.

The restaurant offers an extensive breakfast menu with distinctive items such as the Benedict Buenos—chorizo and eggs with a homemade cheese sauce, served on jalapeo cornbread.

Urick said Cy-Fair was in need of a community breakfast house that was not a part of a chain.

"People feel like this is their place to go in Cypress," he said. "You can come in and see your neighbors and support a local business."
