A new retail development is coming to the Towne Lake area.
Construction is underway on a new strip center behind the Kroger grocery store at Tuckerton Road and Towne Lake Parkway.
This 16,000-square-foot development will sit directly between the Boardwalk at Towne Lake and the Boardwalk amphitheater, which is also under construction. The center will have room for eight tenants at most, Development Associate Sonny Howard said.

“We’re thinking it will be closer to five or six, though,” he said.
Howard was unable to disclose any tenants, saying developer Caldwell Companies will probably announce them closer to the project’s delivery date in December. Tenant types being targeted include a doctor, chiropractor and veterinarian, he said.
Howard estimated most tenants will be ready to open 60 to 120 days after construction is completed.
“This will be a great new site for local businesses,” he said.
