Resale goes upscale at Designer Touch, a resale and consignment shop at the Lakes of Riata. The boutique, which opened inside Lollipops and Gumdrops in August, offers jewelry, shoes, dresses and other women's clothing, as well as some men's clothing. Customers can also bring in clothing and other items to sell at the shop.

The Cupcake Cowgirls
Featured on the Food Network's "Cupcake Wars," The Cupcake Cowgirls bake housemade cupcakes fresh daily in a variety of flavors. The Cypress shop, which opened in September, is the main location for owner Rebecca Clanton, who also has franchise locations in Spring and Galveston. Clanton was crowned "Cupcake Wars" champion in 2012 for her vanilla salted caramel flavor. The shop also offers cakes and other desserts.
