Original Story
Dallas-based Beacon Land Development is developing Bluejack National, a world-class golf club and community located on the site of the former Blaketree National Golf Club, company officials said.
The 755-acre Bluejack National development will feature an 18-hole golf course, a short course, a golf performance center, and "The Porch," a place for visitors to relax after a round of golf. It will also offer corporate compounds, officials said in a statement.
"Our goal is to create a truly distinctive environment where families and friends can reconnect, enjoy their time together and create lasting memories," said Michael Abbott, Beacon Land Development partner. "At Bluejack National, we have the opportunity to build upon all of [our] know-how to deliver a lifestyle unlike any other to our members."
Bluejack National will feature estate home sites, Sunday homes, cottages and member suites dedicated for short visits. "The Fort," a recreational facility, will feature a bowling alley, movie theater, game room, pottery room and a variety of dining options, officials said.
Memberships will be separate from real estate sales and will be available by application and invitation only. Officials said members will be able to catch bass and other game fish from private stocked fishing ponds at the Blake Fishing Dock, and will have access to a dedicated concierge staff.
Partners Abbott and Casey Paulson recently founded Beacon Land Development and have been affiliated with the Sweetwater Country Club in Sugar Land, the Vaquero Club in Westlake, the Four Seasons Resort and Club at Las Colinas, along with other similar developments around the United States, according to the statement.
The Bluejack National development will be at 4430 S. FM 1486, Montgomery.
