A part of a Cypress Creek watershed flood project in northwest Harris County is receiving a boost in state funding.
What happened
The $22 million effort to improve the Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve was secured by U.S. Rep. Sam Harless, R-Spring, during the 89th legislative session.
“This is the park and lake most of us see while driving along Cypresswood and the Tomball Parkway that has a dam that holds back a substantial amount of water,” Harless said in a May news release. “These funds will be used to repair a number of erosion-damaged sites along a 5,700-foot section of the dam.”
