A new segment of Louetta Road opened Dec. 7 to complete the roadway from Hwy. 290 to east of I-45. Construction began in September 2020, and the project wrapped up about three months ahead of schedule, according to a news release.

Louetta was extended from Stablewood Farms Drive to Telge Road as a four-lane concrete boulevard, and double bridges were installed for both eastbound and westbound traffic over Little Cypress Creek.

County officials including Precinct 4 Commissioner Jack Cagle and Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey celebrated the project’s completion with a ribbon-cutting Dec. 7.

The project initially was located in both Precincts 3 and 4 but will be entirely in Precinct 3 following redistricting. Both precincts contributed to the project’s $8.8 million cost.
