Vincent Duran, the CEO of local nonprofit Boys and Girls Country in Hockley, will now live on-site with his family of four, according to a news release. The Executive Director's House is the newest addition to the 200-acre campus. The project was funded by the Hamill Foundation and built by Caldwell Homes.

“Living on-site at Boys and Girls Country makes all the difference in the world, both in terms of overseeing the operation but also connecting with our children,” Duran said in a statement. “We’re grateful to Caldwell Homes and the Hamill Foundation for making this possible. It’s a wonderful gift for the community.”

The new home will allow Duran to host functions for donors, board members and the 66 children living at Boys and Girls Country, officials said.

This project is part of a larger effort to upgrade the property. Boys and Girls Country recently renovated four of its 11 cottages to house eight children each as well as their teaching parents, who show the children essential life skills.

“This organization has been on my heart for a long time, and it’s an honor to play a small part in supporting their mission,” Caldwell Companies Marketing Director Susan Caldwell said. “Our hope is that this home is a vessel for the work being done at Boys and Girls Country and provides many happy memories for the Duran family.”
