A new location of Village Medical is now open as of Dec. 9 at the Walgreens location at 12314 Jones Road, Houston, near the Cypress North Houston Road intersection.
The full-service primary care clinic was launched after Walgreens conducted a pilot program at five Houston-area locations that started in 2019. The pharmacy store chain plans to partner with VillageMD—of which Village Medical is a subsidiary—to open 500-700 locations throughout the U.S. over the next five years, according to a Dec. 9 press release.
Dr. Clive Fields will serve as chief medical officer at the Jones Road location, according to the release. Services include physical exams, treatment of illness or injury, management of health conditions and health education. The clinic also offers virtual visits, access to the Walgreens Pharmacy, same-day appointments and access to an on-site laboratory.
The Village Medical concept is intended to help meet the needs of all people, including those who may not have access to healthcare and are at greater risk of health disparities, according to the release. The Jones Road clinic accepts a wide range of health insurance options and seeks to offer cost-effective primary care.
