California-based Dog Haus Biergarten will open Nov. 21 at 8422 Hwy. 6 N., Houston. It is the first Houston-area location of the franchise, which is known for its gourmet hot dogs and handcrafted hamburgers. The eatery also offers fried chicken sandwiches, wings, shakes and 24 craft beers on tap.

The 3,264-square-foot location features high-definition big-screen TVs and a full bar with wine and house cocktails.

Owners of the new location said they are hosting a contest that will result in 20 people winning a free Haus Dog once a week through the end of 2021. More details can be found at www.copperfield.doghaus.com.

Owners will also be donating 15% of sales from the grand opening weekend, Nov. 21-22, to Cowboys 4 Heroes, a nonprofit that assists combat veterans transitioning from active duty to civilian life by providing meals and building houses.

Jason Rappaport, who will be running the Houston franchise, said in a statement that his team has been hired and is ready to service customers safely during the coronavirus pandemic.

“We can’t wait to become an integral part of the Houston community, but during these unprecedented times, nothing is more important than the health of our guests and team members," Rappaport said. "We will continue to take all necessary precautions to protect everyone’s health and safety as we serve through dine-in, carryout and delivery.” 832-427-1284. www.
