A new Chick-fil-A is set to hold its grand opening at 6 a.m. Thursday at 9823 Barker Cypress Road, Cypress. This location will be the fourth Chick-fil-A to open in the Greater Houston area this year.

The restaurant will feature a two-story indoor play area for children, free Wi-Fi, dual drive-thru lanes and seating for more than 150 customers. According to officials, the new location will bring 120 new jobs to the area.

As part of the chain’s 13-year-old grand opening tradition, the first 100 adults in line when the doors open at 6 a.m. will win a digital card loaded with a one-year supply of free Chick-fil-A meals. Participants can start camping out at 6 a.m. on Wednesday and will be required to stay until the grand opening.

Customers are also encouraged to donate new and gently used children’s books during the grand opening event to benefit Friends of the Library Lone Star College Cy-Fair Branch. The donated books will be placed in a “Book House” to serve as a free library exchange.

Franchise owner David Oakes has been with the company since his first job as a high school student 22 years ago. He attended the University of Florida on a Chick-fil-A scholarship and has operated several locations, including the Copperfield location in Houston.

“We’re not just in the chicken business—we’re in the people business,” Oakes said. “Our goal is to provide a remarkable experience for every customer, every time, by serving food our guests can truly feel good about eating, providing sincere hospitality and being a good neighbor.”
