A Taste of Cy-Fair is returning Oct. 1, offering food, wine and beer tastings to support a local nonprofit. The fourth annual event is set to take place at Lakeland Village Center, 10615 Fry Road, Cypress, from 5-8 p.m. VIP ticketholders will have early admission access starting at 4 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit Cy-Hope, a local nonprofit that serves at-risk children in the Cy-Fair region.

Bite-size samples from more than 40 local restaurants such as The Backyard Grill, Dario’s Steakhouse & Seafood, The Union Kitchen, Texas Mesquite Grill, Suzybeez Bakery, La Viva Cantina, Passerella, Senate Avenue Brewing Co., Crust Pizza and others will be available, according to a news release.

Patrons can also taste dozens of wine and beer offerings, participate in a silent auction, shop market vendors and enjoy live music from Randy Hulsey on the main stage and Nate Gordon in the VIP area.

In addition to early admission, the event’s VIP experience will include access to a private tent, premium food and alcohol, seating areas and a goodie bag.

General admission is $35 for adults, $15 for children 12 and younger and free for children under 2 years old. VIP admission is $75. All ticket prices will increase by $5 as of Sept. 24.

A Taste of Cy-Fair began in 2017 in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey with $20,000 raised for Cy-Hope and continued to support the nonprofit with $40,000 raised in 2018 and nearly $60,000 raised in 2019, according to the release. The event has been put on hold the past two years due to COVID-19.

“We’ve continued to organize this event to raise money for Cy-Hope,” local restaurateur and founding board member Mark McShaffry said in a statement. “Every year, we try to outperform the previous year in order to raise essential funding for the incredible charitable work Cy-Hope does year-round.”
